Fourth and Long

Mental illness is a more serious and widespread epidemic than commonly acknowledged. It hit the Borg hard long ago. Was it the British beef - mad cow disease? Wouldn't surprise me. Needs looking into.

Hounding Trump out of office has set the stage for a successor in the mold of Augusto Pinochet. If the wokester go far enough it will be welcomed when it comes.

Obama said, regarding the concept of prosecuting George W. Bush for crimes committed while serving as President,

"This is a time for reflection, not retribution. I respect the strong views and emotions that these issues evoke. We have been through a dark and painful chapter in our history. But at a time of great challenges and disturbing disunity, nothing will be gained by spending our time and energy laying blame for the past."

Whether one agrees with that sentiment or not is not the point. The point is that Democrats are, to say the least, inconsistent.

Excellent. I doubt the military need anything more to steel their resolve, but in case they did this should do it.

EEngineer,

I actually agree with you there, to an extent.

The problem I see is that a Trump II likely ...
# will not be from the family (Javanka, Eric & Donny Jr are nothing but highly enthusiastic trolls)
# know when to STFU
# = abstain from petty insulting
# abstain from inventing new words
# smart enough to not give himself iirc the order of the bay of pigs
# will be patient
# struck with knowledge
# patient enough to do planning
# accepting advice or contradiction
# can read more than 10 pages without a rage fit
# be un-orange (perhaps green?)

That said, the problem is that a Trump II will be able to hide the uglier perspectives to himself and actually be eager enough to make some 48 laws in 4 years instead of just 2 or 3.

Put short: A Trump II may thus be more successful in being destructive for not screaming out his impulses by twitter or these press conferences = campaign parties.

I think the impulsiveness is likely the problem that neocons like Frum have with Trump. Since Trump cannot control himself, how could they control him instead? Zero chance - to put it that way: 'A poor tool' from their point of view. They want to change things with a scalpel, not with a megaphone, chainsaw, airstrike, shotgun or a claymore mine.

Since Trump is by now politically toxic he made it cheaper for bystanders to run away from him and his fallout, and they do.

What the US should be afraid of is not a new Pinochet but a man with Trump's destructive tendencies and James Addison Baker III's skill, patience, experience and brain.

Even that far back the CIA's signature was incompetence.

Should be fun. Not. Right now the large supply of blue-collar/redneck white guys is just supposed to keep the heat and HVAC running, the power lines and substations up and operational, the transportation of goods flowing. They are NOT allowed to support the only U.S. President in their lifetime who addressed their needs and interests (i.e., America first).

From the Midwest to the Northeast there are many people who live in inhospitable climates for much of the year. Pretty soon these regions will be inhabited by the descendants of peoples who have never inhabited any lands with temperatures that have dipped below 45 degrees. Should be fun. I’m sure they be able to retrain H1B coders to keep heating and power systems functioning in subzero temps.

Some reports indicate that the people are not buying the propaganda despite its massive reach. They apparently see that the use being put to these incidents is the same as how the Nazi regime employed the Reichstag fire to propagandistically destroy all opposition.
The new illegitimate yankee regime intends to follow the Nazi regime's Reichstagbrandverordnung (Parliament fire decrees) with a "Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act" to be rammed through like the patriot act and defining almost any opposition as "domestic terrorism." This is obviously unconstitutional, but that does not seem to matter much to courts these days, especially the highest ones.

It raises the question that if the federal regime has gone totally off the constitutional reservation with Bills of Attainder and laws that violate free speech as required by the First Amendment, then should state governments have the right to declare independence from a regime that does not follow its oath to preserve and protect constitutional rule.

Even better; Brennan has now approved Schwarzenegger's message comparing the Capitol demonstration to Kristallnacht.

It took them a little over 4 years, but finally Deplorables have become Nazis.

These people don't recognize Nemesis when she is staring them in the face. Such is the nature of Hubris I guess.

It is interesting that Schwarzenegger, with his family past, a father who worked for the Nazi regime's police force, would be the agent to compare the "Reichstag fire" riots with Kristallnacht. I'm not sure, but I remember hearing that Schwarzenegger pere was an SS member. This underlines the hubris of the situation. Whom the gods destroy they first make mad.

Our lives will be so much better when "they" no longer outrage us, and they are forced to feed on their own bile.
