It was always just business. Never liked doing it. Doesn't mean it didn't have to get done.

Another great read from Basilisk. Sorry to hear he had passed away. SWMBO and I send a contribution every year to the American Cancer Society in memory of her sister, this coming January we'll add Jim Peak's name to the memorial donation,

Colonel,
I infer that Basilisk passed away. I liked his writing and missed him when he stopped. May he rest in peace.

Standing 200 yards Slow Fire is traditional US Service Rifle competition. https://thecmp.org/competitions/cmp-rifle-program/

Lots of people shoot it in competition, and lots more think it is impossible. 4x scopes are now allowed. Jackets help a lot.

Somehow his obituary was omitted from the re-post. He died in May, 2020 after two years of cancer. https://www.loudountimes.com/obituaries/james-p-peak/article_7909a942-9c6d-11ea-b8ff-572424b397fd.html

Same here. JP was a great guy but he never killed a man, never recruited or ran an agent under clan standards of rigor, or any other standards. Great imagination, but his clandestine stories are just silly. I never understood his fascination with technology in simple things. Now, Space is another matter.
