What is the name of the hinged two sided Spanish steak pan used in Madrid restaurants? you put the steak in with whatever, bring the two handles together and lock them and after some cooking turn it over.

Serge

This is what I had tonight, a beautiful NY strip cooked using some new high quality bbq chips I bought, I like my steak cooked medium well. I also cooked two filet mignon pieces from trader joes and a grass fed sirloin strip. Salt and pepper.
Unrelated: if you ever felt like it, please consider making a post detailing all the times that you came in contact with Biden. I remember reading a past comment in which you related a confrontation you had with him regarding Israel, I would be very interested to know if there are any other instances.

Dropped off in the middle of the night? This is called a Ballot Steak.

The only bad thing about cooking like this on the grill outside is that you can't make a pan sauce. When I do that indoors I pour off most of the fat and de-glaze the pan with red wine. I add a thickener, usually arrowroot. Salt and pepper. Some light cream and whisk the whole thing up getting the crusty bits off the bottom of the pan. You should be on simmer while you do this last. Enjoy.

This is what I call a "God Drop", unexpected and greatly appreciated. Enjoy, Colonel, you deserve this for all the work you do to keep us going. If I had your address, I'd send you a box of apples from the Hudson Valley. God Bless!

I am sorry, I just couldn't resist it.
Cows evidently pass too much gas?

So do I. One of the benefits of old age is an inexhaustible supply of natural gas.

On the subject of gas, a medical specialist I know said it was "music to our ears" in patients with bowel disorders including cancer.

Sounds bad. Must be brought on by all that protein.

So I've come away with some authentic recipes and detailed instructions for Boston Baked Beans from a previous section - for which I was very grateful - and a previously unknown way of making pan sauce from this one. Makes up for the quite disastrous news coming from over your way, Colonel.

On the fried salt pork - without the fat cut off - that reminds me of reading of how the men were fed on the farm in the old days.

A farm worker then was reckoned to need five thousand calories per day. I think that's up to the amount some athletes in training need today. Part of their diet was fat bacon - no lean at all - fried and in large quantities. No syrup, as you specify, that I've heard off. Just ate it as it was. And they loved it. Some round my way still do.

As for that disastrous news - one swallow doesn't make a summer for the bastards. These are not like the days when everyone believed as a matter of course the nonsense they were fed.

The specialist said that the flatulence indicated that blockages had cleared.

Don't chicken out. Eat it with the crispy fat on. Don't listen to her.

So it fell off a truck? Didn't we see that scene in Goodfellas? Somehow my eggs and salad delivery guy never makes that mistake. Must be payback for my misspent youth.

PeterVE

No. He carefully placed it alongside the dairy delivery on the front steps. I have the surveillance tape.
