So, she is a good and wise person because she is female? Her own father, an emeritus professor of economics, said that she should never be president. But, you think her woman's soul is good enough. that sounds like that "wise Latina" nonsense from Sotomayor. Sad.

Totally agree. But this is not payback. This is a first installment on 4 years of obstruction and propaganda tactics which also had the collateral affect of damaging US institutions. It would take a full 4 years to get even with that absurd charade.

Getting serusly nasty.

Office of the President Elect is for people who like to play President on TV, before even the first electoral votes have been cast.

File this embarrassment with Barry's fake Greek Columns and his ChickenHawk seal of office before he was inaugurated. Is this all a game for Democrats?

Fake it, until you make it - sounds like a San Francisco new age mantra. I think i can.....I think I can.....I think I can.

akaPatience - I did not say that Sen McConnell said that in 2009. I was referring to the inauguration evening meeting held by Republicans. To better understand this point I reviewed summaries on Draper's book which reported that the Sen did not attend. I stand corrected.
Deap - I may be simplifying your comment but it appears to me that you are withholding support unless Pres-elect Biden act like Pres Trump has. That is unrealistic.
Kilo - "implacable enmity" - I sincerely hope that you can change your heart on this.
Col Lang - I understand that politics is another form of war and that you want to wage war on Pres-elect Biden. I hope that you can find some flexibility to deal with his efforts. We have huge problems that need to be addressed and cannot wait for another administration.

Joe is a simpleton frontman who will be disposed of by "his" people.

It would probably be in China Joe's best interest if Trump wins.

The Government Services Administration (GSA) has not allocated funds to the Biden transition team. Scty Esper was not fired over some USAF fly-by over Biden's home, there was no money allocated to do so.

Colonel - to the victor the spoils, looks like.

That there have been irregularities in the electoral process is common ground. When are there not? That those irregularities were sufficient to alter the result - that could only be determined by criminal investigation and that in many locations.

Will that happen? Instead such anecdotal or partial evidence as Giuliani has managed to scrape together must be substituted for the hard edged evidence that criminal investigators armed with full powers might come up with.

Unless some Court or other body looks at the whole thing in the round and finds that whatever happened it has discredited the electoral process to such an extent that some elections should be rerun, or that a significant number of votes should be set aside, the result will therefore stand.

I'm surprised that the Republicans didn't see this coming. That they did not insert their own investigators beforehand. Like shoplifting, voting fraud is easy enough to detect when it is happening but difficult indeed to prove after the event. And when one is looking at the range of scenarios in a subject as murky as this that might indicate that the election was, in the round, fair. In that scenario the Republicans did have men and women on the inside or at least knew what was happening on the inside; and they found there was nothing much to object to except the normal and containable problem of accidental or minor error.

So many possible scenarios. So many indications that it was fair, so many conflicting indications that it was not. Likely we'll never know. To the victor the spoils.

It's not that significant a defeat for that beleaguered Little House on the Prairie, or however we may describe its modern kitchen table equivalent. A split or majority Senate with a few conservative Democrats will hold Biden back, much to his relief no doubt, from indulging in the full on progressivism of AOC and her like. But it's a setback.

In what fight? I had occasion to copy this summary of the fight to an English site recently. I think AG Barr defines it accurately enough -

In any age, the so-called progressives treat politics as their religion. Their holy mission is to use the coercive power of the State to remake man and society in their own image, according to an abstract ideal of perfection. Whatever means they use are therefore justified because, by definition, they are a virtuous people pursing a deific end. They are willing to use any means necessary to gain momentary advantage in achieving their end, regardless of collateral consequences and the systemic implications. They never ask whether the actions they take could be justified as a general rule of conduct, equally applicable to all sides.

Conservatives, on the other hand, do not seek an earthly paradise. We are interested in preserving over the long run the proper balance of freedom and order necessary for healthy development of natural civil society and individual human flourishing. This means that we naturally test the propriety and wisdom of action under a “rule of law” standard. The essence of this standard is to ask what the overall impact on society over the long run if the action we are taking, or principle we are applying, in a given circumstance was universalized – that is, would it be good for society over the long haul if this was done in all like circumstances?

For these reasons, conservatives tend to have more scruple over their political tactics and rarely feel that the ends justify the means. And this is as it should be, but there is no getting around the fact that this puts conservatives at a disadvantage when facing progressive holy far, especially when doing so under the weight of a hyper-partisan media.

Let me help you:

" that could only be determined by criminal investigation and that in many locations."

That is not true. You should actually read election laws state by state and the US Constitution as it pertains to Presidential elections. This doesn't need 12 jurors who couldn't get out of jury to decide, nor Mueller and his 30 cronies who mysteriously erased their cell phones before turning them in to investigate.

"it's not that significant a defeat for that beleaguered Little House on the Prairie..."

If they get away with rigging it this time there will never been another fair election in the US.

Best comment I've heard all week:
I feel like half the country is trying to leave an abusive relationship after four years and the other half still doesn't realize they are in one.

I guess that first half is 5 million (and counting) more than the half that doesn't realize the game is over.

JM Gavin

English Outsider,
Many people saw this coming, and tried to prevent it. The areas in which the fraud occurred are completely controlled by those that either conducted or colluded in the fraud.

As an Englishman, I'm not sure if you understand the history and mindset of many U.S. citizens (not trying to belittle you or insult you, I just don't have a British perspective). Understand that the electoral process has been discredited, whether the courts recognize it or not. There are still citizens in the U.S. that won't abide tyranny. Those that are fine with tyranny as long as their side is in charge, or as long as there are steaks in the freezer, or because it is too difficult to imagine taking a stand; those aren't citizens, they are subjects.

The only way to remedy this is a complete and transparent investigation. Those who broke the law must be identified and investigated as appropriate. The true outcome of legal votes must be known. I don't care if the true and legal winner is Trump or Biden. If the preceding isn't done, it's over. There will be no more Republic, only tyranny.

You write "to the victor belong the spoils." Victor in what way? If the Democrats take control through unlawful action they are starting the fight, not winning it.

On reflecting on my election forecast, I note that I believe I will be vindicated on both my House and Senate call when it is finally said and done. I've got to admit while my presidential call is currently wrong I did not expect Saddam level turnouts in Milwaukee and Montgomery County, PA.

If the GOP retain the senate by winning both the GA runoff races, then McConnell will stymie most legislative pursuits of Biden/Kamala (aka Obama) except for those that benefit the globalist/Wall St/Big Tech/Big Business oligarchy. Biden's transition team for Treasury/SEC/etc is led by Mr. Goldman Sachs. Big Tech is also well represented. We'll be returning to the globalist agenda of the oligarchy which has universal support among the establishment of both parties as well as the media/governmental class and enabled Trump to win in 2016.

What will be interesting to see is if Pelosi will be re-elected as Speaker. As it stands the Democrats may only have a single digit margin in the House and many of them that won in Red districts may side with the Republicans on issues where the GOP vote as an unified block.

Trumpism will not go away as the rural & working class people continue to lose out to the globalist agenda of the past 40+ years. A more effective and competent politician with the Trump message is in our future. The breakdown of the "norms" of the past is now complete. We now have two distinct America's. One rural blue-collar households who are losing population and the other in urban white-collar households who are growing in numbers.

"We are going to fight you every step of the way, etc."

Why? Out of sheer spitefulness?

Practically speaking what can you hope to achieve? There is no doubt that the new president-elect will be hamstrung: effectively handicapped and unable to implement any of the policies you abhor. And as for Biden's victory, like it or not there is no way on earth this be reversed now, as surely you will agree.

A waste of time and mental effort in short, as anger often is.

Speaking as an advocatus diaboli, would it not be wiser for those who think as you do to husband your energies, focus your rage and marshal your forces until 2024, when a successor to Trump along the lines of Senator Cotton (if not the 46th president himself) is sure to run, with every chance of success?

Re: H. Clinton: she officially conceded the race, even congratulating DT.

McCarthy, the huge problems we face were created by prior Democrat administrations and you demand we are now supposed to agree to add more to them under some ersatz Biden administration? Nothing wrong with continuing the Trump agenda, it was fixing many of the Obama-era missteps.

Sounds like you are now demanding go along with the radical Biden "team" agenda, or get off the island. You might want to rethink what you are asking.

#1: Finish building the Wall, and then we can talk about "immigration reform".

The Wall was supposed to be completed decades ago under the grand Reagan "amnesty compromise". Until Democrats sabotaged this, with teacher union connivance, and created one of our biggest Democrat legacy problems - masses of unregulated illegals swarming the borders and sucking out billions of tax dollars subsidies and sending billions of US dollars out of the US economy as "remittences" back to Mexico.

Pressures on housing, schools, local resources, social services while the teachers unions laugh all the way to the bank because of mandatory K-12 free education for all illegals.

Take these incentives out of illegal immigration.Much better to finish building the Wall; instead of more Obama-era cages required to respond to Obama's unregulated border crashing.

Then we can talk about DACA and other Democrat immigration caca like anchor babies and chain immigration. Democrat dirty fingerprints are all over this "US problem". Where is your grand compromise to fix it ---why can't you just honor the previous good faith Reagan agreement, that Democrats alone betrayed. Democrats have proven they not good or worthy negotiating partners. You must acknowledge your failed history.

Then strip out the mandatory union membership demands on every other cockamamy program you Democrats come up with - why do you want to enrich private third party operations like the public sector unions at taxpayer expense? SCOTUS settled this issue in Janus vs AFSCME.

Yet Biden-Harris have been screaming to overturn this SCOTUS decision by any means necessary - that is not looking for compromise. That is creating a Democrat party cash cow and deep state stranglehold . Why are you doing that and demanding we are supposed to go along with this brazen Democrat cash and power grab in the "spirit of compromise".

You have perhaps less than one millimeter of good will left as a party. Don't squander it. You are rapidly losing even that one millimeter with this "President Elect" chicanery - you gave us a very bad taste of what you plan to do next with this totally unnecessary public gas-lighting stunt.

No wonder Trump's approval rating is suddenly going up, now that the electorate is waking up to post-election buyer's remorse. Tread carefully.

The skull and druggery since 2016 is entertaining.beats "dynasty" hands down.Remember it is now half way through hrc's "presidency".The irony. The bill in blue dress painting on epsteins wall a high point.maxwell in jail as collateral.hunter flashing his goods to spice it up for joe.
The second half of hrc's "presidency" is shaping up to be even more interesting."dallas" anyone.

The chessboard is no more black and white square
It is green and red.

Why didn't you Demo/marxists follow your own advice? HC? Yes, she congratulated him and then became the biggest underground leader of the "resistance."

If people wanted a Biden agenda, they would have elected a Biden Congress. But they did not. They did just the opposite.

Go back to your corner and accept your "Biden" think is only one of three moveable parts in our system of governance. You sound like you think Biden is King of America.

When Trump won, he got a GOP Congress but even he was boxed in by an Obama Judiciary who stopped him at every turn. Checks and balances, remember? That is the way things are supposed to work. Trump was able to change the judiciary, but lost the Presidency and Congress is now split. Remind me how that grants Biden plenipotentiary powers?

And worse, you sound like you think Biden is exempt from the same dirty tricks Democrats pulled day in and day for the past four years. You need another plan. You need to plan to live with a COP backlash at 2022 midterms.

One advantage of Biden's fake Office of President Elect is any "honeymoon" clock" has already started running, so any gratuitous good will shall be long over if/when he gets inaugurated Jan 20, 2021.

What happens Jan. 20th, 2021?

A Catholic, a woman of color, a teacher and a Jew walk into the White House with a rescue dog.
Sounds pretty American to me.

Fred - I don't believe the corruption goes so far down that it reaches the personnel in the counting stations. As you know I followed "Russiagate" as closely as I could. I got the impression then, a very strong impression, that the corruption stayed at or around the top. One thing that impressed me, for example, was that when the herculean efforts of various Senators did manage to extract various official documents, those documents hadn't been tampered with or faked.

There are still people, normal people, in the lower levels of that vast American administrative machine who play by the rules. So I believe in this case.

So, allowing as one must for the usual administrative errors, it's difficult for me to believe the vote counting in those crucial States was fixed top to bottom. Mr Gavin points out that I have a different mindset and that's true - bound to be so just looking in from outside - but any alleged problems in British elections, whether they are true or false, never cast doubt on that bottom layer of officials scrupulously and to the best of their ability counting the votes.

And with such a large number of people, if anything was fixed, there'd be whistle blowers enough.

I believe the weakness lies rather with same day registration, the loosening of the rules because of fear of infection, and in particular in some areas what amounted to indiscriminate use of what were really just mail shots into the blue of ballot papers. Add to that the fact that people are moving around a lot at the moment and there are opportunities enough there for fraud, whether those opportunities were taken or not, without assuming it went down to the vote counters.

So whatever happened I don't believe enquiry will turn up much. A time for dour resistance then. But this is one of those occasions, Fred, when I would so like to be wrong. Good luck.

"The counting stations..."
The computerized fraud was done by software, not people in each counting station knowingly submitting fraudulent ballots or discarding lawful ones - though that was apprently done in multiple places.

"the weakness lies rather with same day registration, the loosening of the rules because of fear of infection, and in particular in some areas what amounted to indiscriminate use of what were really just mail shots into the blue of ballot papers. "

FFS how obtuse can you be. That's how the stage was set to flood selected area with tens of thousands of ballots.

"here'd be whistle blowers enough." How many damn sworn affidavits will it take to satisfy you? See the video from the prior comment as reference.

"I don't believe enquiry will turn up much."
That enquiry has yet to begin in earnest and plenty has already turned up.

Yes, very American when Catholic Melania Trump is joined by Jewish Ivanka Trump and teacher Betsy Devos at the White House on January 20th. I'm sure the transition to the 2nd Trump term will be smooth.
