I am going to take something like ten days off over the period of my eye surgeries. Sissy? Sure. Why not. If you want me to start up again put some money in the till. That would be a gift, not a fee. Otherwise I must say that I have become fatigued with this site and its ever growing troll infestation. Au revoir! pl
Pat,
Best wishes for a speedy recovery from your eye surgery

You will be missed and I hope your eyes come out of it better than you expect.

I've been mostly a lurker here. Have learned a lot. Thank you for hosting what has become an important source of "real" information from one who has been at the front lines of our nation's defense.
Prayers for your surgery and recovery.
Troll infestations are like flak. The more you encounter the closer you must be to the target.
I wish you all the best for the holidays and beyond.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May you never sit in traffic
May your lights always be green,
and all your devices be glitch free
And until you post again,
May God steady your surgeons hand
Please do what is best for you

Pat, I always enjoy your insight and sharp wit concerning the ongoing "shenanigans" in our current political and social world. Hopefully, you will return soon to your site and its ever growing troll infestation. I don't even know what a "troll Infestation" is; hopefully, it is not infectious? Take care, "Old Man/Brother Rat"!

Aye, eye, Col.!
Missing your writing already.

Best wishes for a swift recovery from the surgery. I hope the site will not succumb to trollitis.

Moderating this site must be a real pain.
It is impressive how well you do it, especially at an age when, as you know, many people, speaking realistically, do lose some of their previous acuity and facilities.
But you, as far as I can tell, have lost nothing.
Congratulations, and appreciation, for providing the wisdom and service you have over the years.
(But I still think you're wrong on global warming! ;-)
Put your feet up on a footstool or keep the site going,
you will be remembered with appreciation for your past efforts.
But if you "take it easy", you will be missed.

Actually, I have lost a lot. My intellect, powerful imagination and resolve long terrified people like Clapper and the general officer stiffs in army intelligence.

You know you can't quit us. Best wishes on the surgeries!

I visit a lot but never comment.
May be more of us than you know.
The war is raging now.
We need your continued input.

Which reminds me that I haven't chipped in to the running expenses of the site for a while now. Hmm. The freeloading pilgrim.
Colonel - if the same team of roofers does your roof do tell them to put some scaffolding up. Morally I suppose it's their hard luck if they or those tools fall off the roof while they're working up there. Yours if you happen to be underneath when it happens.
Best of luck with the operation. I hope you resume soon but not before they say you can. If they tell you to not work at the computer for a bit, may I take this opportunity of wishing you and your wife a very Happy Christmas.

Just read the Executive Summary of the Horowitz Report: to me it screams political bias can be the only justification for the now documented pattern of mistakes, over sights and targeted misfeasance.
As long as it was anti-Trump, it was good enough for government work. Only by starting with the pre-emptive narrative OrangeMan Bad, could this particular pattern of systemic and culpable internal incompetence even exist for so long and sweep in so many people.
If as this report basically concludes, internal incompetence was the only crime, we as a nation must weep.

Well, you're still BRILLIANT. Safest surgery and fastest healing to you, Col. Lang, with All THANKS.

It is an incredibly confusing time to be an American. Every point of view, the older the better, is valuable. You have faced things a hell of a lot more frightening, orders of magnitude more frightening, than surgery. You will do very well.

I hope so. Did I ever tell you my tiger story? BTW I have signed up for the "Elder Astronaut" program. Musk fires you at mars with two years supplies and a dune buggy. Need a roommate. pl

A dune buggy on Mars sounds like a fine thing for a joy-ride.
