Colonel, I just said a prayer for your eye health & speedy recovery. Your love of
fish I think will serve you well @ this time as it's rich in omega 3, perhaps add
a few carrots for good measure. Be well.
Get better soon!
If I may share a story from my younger days - a good friend of mine, very smart, early one morning after enjoying a wet night out, tried to remove his contact lenses before going to bed. He kept trying, but the buggers snapped back into his eyes, and it was quite painful. Eventually he gave up and went to "sleep". The next morning as he assembles the situation he realizes that he had already removed his contacts and it was his corneas that snapped back into place!
Ouch!
I'll add my good wishes and ask for God's blessing for you.
I am legally blind because of myopic retinal degeneration. I know the advantage of having good sight. I am always amazed that so many people I've known who've had the same surgery as yours are very happy with the outcome. Can't imagine the skill a person must have and the confidence needed to do that sort of surgery. I'll say a prayer for the doctor, too.
Hope you are back to 20/20 soon Colonel. If by chance there is a meteor shower before the bandages come off, I'd advise care around tall plants when you first set foot in the garden.
My wife's post-op vision remarkably improved with zero side effects. She had Coke bottle contacts for years.
At an advanced age, my step-mom's vision got way-way better as a result of her eye operation. In the result, her quality of life to the end was vastly improved.
I hope for you, Colonel, that you have a similar outcome.
Best wishes, Colonel. There seem to be several alternative procedures, none troublesome, and recovery quick. But maybe the barbecuing could be given a miss for a while?
The eye people looked at my left cornea today and decided to give it another week to heal. They dug so deep in it last week that there is an unhealed spot in the middle.
even so, that eye is four lines better than it was before the scrape.
Best wishes for a good outcome!
The space you have created here is extremely valuable.

Eyes are the window of the soul.
Perhaps our entire culture needs corneal debridement.
Prayers and wishes for a good outcome and speedy recovery.
