David S, you could be right.

On the other hand, with panel costs and installation fees being absorbed by Tesla Solar for free up front it looks like they are betting on the long term to gain market share. So they don't seem to be worried about going bankrupt.

But if they do go bankrupt, why would he want to remove the panels? Would it not be free power for all their customers? Or could a bankruptcy court demand former customers keep paying into a court ordered fund for creditors? In that case he could just de-energize it and leave it in place. If the bankruptcy court wants the solar panels and batteries back, then let them come and remove them.

'How and why did we ever sucked into the Middle East cesspool and why do we continue to be fools?''

This book will answer those questions. Buy it. A third of the book is primary sources and document evidence but still a good read. If you have any patriotism in your heart it will set you on fire to learn how Americans were used and abused by a Zionist Fifth Column in our own country.

EO;

Some of the Uighur jihadi fighters may get out via Turkish ratlines. Not many. Turkey officially has labeled the Uighur's Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP) a terrorist organization. But there is a wink and a nod there as they are considered Turkic peoples by the Pan-Turkism movement in Turkey. Some families have already settled in southeastern Turkey in former Kurdish villages that were ethnically cleansed.

They are not just in Syria and Turkey. They fought with the Taliban at the Battle of Kunduz in northern Afghanistan. And they have (or had?) a presence in Pakistan's Baluchi and Waziri areas.

The Uighur civilians will rot in refugee camps unless China takes them back and puts them in re-education camps.

I think I have found the answer to who told Acosta to leave Epstein alone ''because he was intelligence.'' There may be something to the suspicion that Epstein was a Israeli asset or maybe Mandelker was just protecting a fellow Jew.

The Israeli woman, Sigal Mandelker, now at Treasury in charge of sanctions and terrorist.

https://thegrayzone.com/2019/09/03/pro-israel-sigal-mandelker-fbi-americans-iran/

''In 2008, while Mandelker served in Bush’s Department of Justice, she approved the notorious deal that allowed the wealthy child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein to escape federal prosecution.''

http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/ny-epstein-bail-hearing-20190715-x2oztbwjkbcdrho7ae73vhmzvy-story.html

''Weinberg noted that the agreement was approved by Sigal Mandelker and Mark Filip, who at the time were senior officials in the Department of Justice. Mandelker is now an under secretary at the Treasury Department..''

Doesn't the Justice Department have anything better to do? Why make a federal case out of the auto makers getting together and agreeing to follow Calif's emission standards instead of Trump's lower standards? And violating 'competition law"? Yes I understand collusion, but that is hysterical, as if Washington doesnt violate that every day by handing out no bid contracts to friends of friends. Ugh.

Justice Department Launches Antitrust Probe Into Four Auto Makers
Government seeks to determine if Ford, Honda, BMW, VW violated competition law

Sept. 6, 2019 5:55 pm ET

WASHINGTON—The Justice Department has launched an antitrust investigation into four auto makers that forged a deal with California on vehicle-emissions standards, escalating the conflict between the Trump administration and Sacramento over environmental regulations.
Justice Department lawyers are seeking to determine whether Ford Motor Co., Honda Motor Co., BMW AG and Volkswagen AG broke federal competition law by agreeing with California to follow tailpipe-emissions standards beyond those proposed by the Trump administration.

The stcrict enforcement of a Made In America for all US GOV and private contractor defence and security purchases to include component parts and leaseholds. A Made In America policy similar to/not unlike that for WW2 aircraft purchases.

Thanks, TTG.  The Service quote hit the spot.  Strange things indeed.

If one is so much further away from it all, as you know I am, the Arnold quote's always there in the background -

"And we are here as on a darkling plain
Swept with confused alarms of struggle and flight,
Where ignorant armies clash by night."

May I also thank you for your great updates. I'm glad the next one's coming up soon.

Several thousand Uighur, many with family, were transported to Syria by Turkey. They were given money to travel for vacation from Xinjang to Thailand where they would receive Turkish passports. They were put onto planes to Istanbul where their Turkish passports were again confiscated. They were then sent on to Syria where they now live in the area of Jisr al Shugur.

In 2015 Thailand cracked down on the scheme and sent some Uighurs back to China.

The best summary on the scheme and on China's reaction is by Peter Lee:
https://chinamatters.blogspot.com/2015/07/turkeys-passports-for-uyghurs-scheme.html

In response to Thailands crackdown some Uighur with a Turkish passport blew up a Buddhist temple in Bangkok. The Thai police traced the responsible people back to a house where they (again) found hundreds of fresh Turkish passports.

The Uighur are fighting in Syria under the label Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP). The group is said to have some 10,000 members in Syria. I believe that to be a bit exaggerated.

TIP are known to be fierce fighters.

Thank you srw for your share about the parade. I enjoyed it.

Thank you for that. It looks like Mr. Jefferson had a hand in the guarantee of basic civil rights? And the check on slavery? Interesting. You would think that the public university would have become Northwestern, but that was 1850. So it was Ohio University. The older I get the more I realize I don't know much about America.

The British people committed a grave sin and have forfeited the confidence of the UK parliament. It appears Die Lösung is taking some time.

These are also the same automakers that lost sales when it took the EPA 5 - 6 years to decide what small diesel engine emissions should be set at. What is the damage of manufacturers trying to design to a higher standard in case a new administration raises emission standards that would disrupt production?

A weird windmill to go joust at when antitrust in the pharmaceutical industry sales would be an more logical target. Are the automakers falling behind in tea money?

Hui are Han.

Uighurs are not, they are considred to be foreign barbarians. Several hundred thousand fled to USSR in the early 1960s - if memory serves. They belong to a different civilization and culture than the shattered remains of what used to be a centered culture called Imperial China.

A couple years ago I went to Dublin. A former colleague had been hired by Amazon for a job to do customer service for Germany in (tax low) Ireland. The lady had invited me and a friend (we three worked together before) for a visit.

The friendly cab driver who brought us from the airport to the city spoke gaelic english which sounded even coughiger than a drunken scotsman. We went to Dublin on eastern since that are holidays in Germany.

Needless to say, Ireland and Dublin were wonderful and we had nice evenings with wine and good dinners. On easter sunday afternoon I went for a walk near the Dublin university and ran into a demonstration. Irish nationalists were on the road, on eastern historically understandable.

The interesting part were the demonstrators - their faces had that sort of look that didn't invite to conversation, they were in irish camouflage uniform and the ireland flags they carried were completely green.

I have seen that certain look in faces of guys in Cologne, usually near turkish "tea shops" or "shisha bars" with some ~100 k cars with sometimes golden wheels near the door that are sometimes visited by the police, usually SWAT teams.

I read that the New IRA has started to conduct some attacks (iirc a mortar round to be fired at a police station was found and defused - with luck) in northern ireland.

My bad hunch is that Johnson, in his hysterical refusion to accept the irish backstop Sovereignty!!! (and going back to the older troubles and a hard border in northern Ireland), may end up turning the United Kingdom (UK) into a Sorry Britain (SoB) and help Ireland to the long desired unification.

Scots are talking about leaving the UK and staying in the EU, too.

Welsh farmers who receive some 80% of the UK's farming subsidies will likely miss these (and needless to say, Mr. 'I fire you, too' Cummings has happily received these - for not farming on family lands) and that there is no back up plan whatsoever (except for, perhaps, printing more pounds?) for the UK giving such things after Brexit.

A wonderful cover from the Spiegel yesterday was this, and it is IMO sadly rather accurate:

Alas ... this sunday I chose to have good Adana kebap for lunch and saw a bearded hipster guy coming into the restaurant. He had a t-shirt with the slogan "Inspire Someone Every Day". He must have lived up to that in his way since he had a splendid black eye.

Just saw that exchange.  It reminded us that Brecht, fellow traveller of his time though he was, got it -

"... Wäre es da
Nicht doch einfacher, die Regierung
Löste das Volk auf und
Wählte ein anderes?"

The German is so much better than the translation and besides, LeaNder might be around.

Your Brecht quote has been relevant from the start of the debacle.  Modern mass persuasion techniques are immensely powerful.  Not forgetting that half of us in the UK actually want to stay in the EU just as strongly as the other half of us want to leave, so Westminster has a solid basis to start from.

And by "Westminster" we may also understand what passes at present for HMG.  The new administration is far more concerned with securing its dwindling voter base than getting us out.  They will get us out only if they think the two aims coincide.  If they do get us out they will get us out no further than is necessary for the first.

The UK/EU defence policy that they inherited from the previous administration will be the touchstone for that.

I reckon another quote, and that from a fellow countryman of yours, is now more to the point.  Made in a different context but applicable here.  Because this is no longer primarily a fight with some amorphous construct in Brussels.  That fragile entity would collapse like wet cardboard if we put our minds to it. It is a fight amongst ourselves.  And also a fight against our owners in  Westminster.  Steve Bannon -

"If you think they are going to give you your country back without a fight, you are sadly mistaken."

"Israel accused of planting mysterious spy devices near the White House", Politico, 2019-09-12

The U.S. government concluded within the last two years that Israel was most likely behind the placement of cell-phone surveillance devices that were found near the White House and other sensitive locations around Washington, D.C., according to three former senior U.S. officials with knowledge of the matter.

But unlike most other occasions when flagrant incidents of foreign spying have been discovered on American soil, the Trump administration did not rebuke the Israeli government, and there were no consequences for Israel’s behavior, one of the former officials said.

The miniature surveillance devices, colloquially known as “StingRays,” mimic regular cell towers to fool cell phones into giving them their locations and identity information. Formally called international mobile subscriber identity-catchers or IMSI-catchers, they also can capture the contents of calls and data use.

The devices were likely intended to spy on President Donald Trump, one of the former officials said, as well as his top aides and closest associates -- though it’s not clear whether the Israeli efforts were successful.
