Anyone who saw "Full Metal Jacket?"

All

IMO "universal" back ground checks would probably be ruled unconstitutional by SCOTUS as unreasonable restricting a constitutional right. if that is so, Trump will probably back increased background checks.

you have no idea what you are talking about. the gun and ammunition would be less than $500. you can practice anywhere out in the country. These people were easy targets in a parking lot or in a store. Your own incapacity proves nothing.

You could run a reasonably potent guerrilla war with revolvers, bolt action rifles and pump shotguns plus home made mines (IEDs) plus stuff you could loot from the ARNG and capture from troops.

The Second Amendment was added as an insurance policy against tyrannical government, not to satisfy the needs of domestic firearms owners. The argument here is essentially between folk who, perhaps like yourself, consider that such an insurance policy is anachronistic and those who consider that it is a timeless need. The framers of the US constitution were unique in not putting unconditional faith in the eternal beneficence of their government. History everywhere would tend to support this position as being wise.

Also, "I'm not a gun person" ought always to be followed by "because one or more generations back my ancestors were".

Where do you live? This is not a lot of money here. A kid living at home and flipping burgers at McDonalds could save this money. Most Americans do not run from one job to another to make ends meet. it does not take more than a couple hours practice on a rifle range to achieve this minimal level of proficiency, Most commercial ranges do not charge money for use if the shooter buys ammunition there. Now, if either of these could have hit a man at 200 yds with an AR-15 then I would e curious how they achieved that skill. You sound like a marxist.

Artemesia,

Yes it is appalling to the left that Niklas Cruz commited violent acts as a teenager, was given "counceling" and sent right back to the public school system, repeatedly. How dare I mention that reality. You sound like one of the victims oppressed by capitalism. As for personal opportunities, I enlisted, saved fifty percent of my gross income for more than six years then left active service with all that savings and pursued other opportunities.

Matt

I don't doubt that in the slightest,

and anyone driving around out of town in a pickup with a bolt action rifle and shotgun on a rack in the cab and carrying a holstered revolver isn't going to draw undue attention either?

We want the fruits of our labors as a country. we don't really care about the economic welfare of other countries. We want more. We are selfish. we are better off than almost any other country and want to be more so.

"After a shooting spree, they always want to take the guns away from the people who didn't do it. I sure as hell wouldn't want to live in a society where the only people allowed guns are the police and the military." William S. Burroughs

The media bias against Trump is feral. The Putin puppet play didn't work, now they're playing the Hitler card. The media is the publicity arm of the Democratic Part, has been since JFK. Many of us quit buying media propaganda but they still gots the power.

The gadget is always 100% accurate and everybody with the same BAL is equally impaired? No one handles their hooch batter than anyone else?

Good memory thats correct. This was a review i read

"A case in point is Stanley Kubrick's 1987 film,Full Metal Jacket, which focuses on Marines in training in the US and in action in Vietnam. It is routinely cited as one of the best anti-warfilms ever made. The film presents an unflattering picture of (civilians) dehumanised by a military machine and reduced to killers.I substituted civilians for soldiers"
