This is good stuff! Bill Clinton was at the Phoenix, Arizona airport yesterday. He had a private jet waiting on the apron. Hey! CGI and his foundation are rolling in money and you can't use it all for good works. Supposedly he "heard" that Loretta Lynch, the Attorney General of the US was arriving in DoJ aircraft. Sooo ... he decided to wait for her arrival and then strolled over to her aircraft for a little chat.
Lynch says that nothing was discussed concerning the ongoing DoJ/FBI investigations into Hillary's possible violations of federal law concerning secret information or DoJ/FBI investigations concerning possible violations of federal corruption laws in the CGI/Clinton Foundation.
No, Lynch says, the conversation was entirely personal. She says it was social and concerned Clinton's grandchildren.
Sure! Why not?
I don't suppose that Bill told her what a great AG she is. He would not have said that, would he? pl
Refreshing. Mika should speak up more often.

I wonder if a discussion about jobs came up? It's not like CGI isn't going to need a (lot) of good lawyer(s) or that Lynch is still going to be employed by the next administration.

Col. Lang:
Clinton was obstensibly in Phoenix for golfing. I live in Tucson; let me assure that NO ONE is golfing at the moment. Our weather has been insanely hot; Phoenix hit 120 degrees last week. Yesterday the temperature in Phoenix reached 104. No one can golf without risking heat stroke.

See no violations-Hear No Violations-Speak No Violations...It is just so overt... and quite frankly, overt because there seems in practice, to be no sanction against the wrong-doing... The Clintons/establishment on both sides of the aisle feel perfectly comfortable and entitled to go about their sordid business. Everything sets a new precedent and the cookbook gets more and more fine-tuned. They do this more and more comfortably in the open.
Sadly, 4 July, 2016 may have funeral overtones in terms of health/fate of The Republic. This election may well be the transition point from a sick American Democracy to one that is functionally gone over to palliative care. What emerges next, Orwell's distopia. Neil Young was pre-mature, come this November we may functionally be "finally on our own".
There are certainly long shadows creeping over the land, its people and its governance.

I don't like historical analogies, but these times feel a lot like an earlier social upheaval/turning point.
Not quite that one, though, although maybe some type of start.
I somewhat never caught onto Neill Young after he left CSNY, admittedly. Didn't realize he may have written both text and music. One of my favorites.

Sounds like something worth doing for the sheer hell of it.
had he taken off without saying hi to Lo the story would have been he fled the scene to avoid her.

@ Liza
They really think the people will believe their "stories"
Posted by: The Beaver | 30 June 2016 at 12:09 PM
This is why I can't stand the Clintons. Even if you take the most charitable view and believe that they only spoke about grandkids, in what possible universe would Clinton not realize how bad this looks? But they are too arrogant to care.
Posted by: Donald | 30 June 2016 at 12:16 PM
Cynicism of this order seems misplaced. It should be obvious that Bill was really interested in getting an introduction to Lynch's knock-out niece.
Posted by: mbrenner | 30 June 2016 at 12:30 PM
this makes so much sense- let us see Clinton has no otherway to coomunicate with Lynch so he had to do it publicly just so he could ask her not to prosecute his spouse, world class analysis ,

RW
OK. What is your explanation? pl
Posted by: turcopolier | 30 June 2016 at 01:15 PM
They simply don't care. They haven't cared since he was governor of Arkansas and she worked at the Rose law firm and it was heavily involved in doing legal work for the state

Fred
Nah !!!
Lynch could be heading a Family Office after her stint as AG and Grand-pa is making sure that his grand children would be looked after should SIL run afoul of IRS or whatever financial misrepresentation. Seems like it runs in the family

She should have fled the scene to avoid him.

Some things you just don't want to do by email. Or texting. Or phone call. Yep, like talking about the grandkids with the AG. Uh huh, sure.
Posted by: doug | 30 June 2016 at 01:54 PM
AG Lynch's conduct appears to violate the DoJ's rules requiring "impartiality in performing official duties":
"In addition to the impartiality regulation, 28 C.F.R. § 45.2 prohibits a DOJ employee, without written authorization, from participating in a criminal investigation or prosecution if he has a personal or political relationship with any person or organization substantially involved in the conduct that is the subject of the investigation or prosecution, or any person or organization which he knows has a specific and substantial interest that would be directly affected by the outcome of the investigation or prosecution."

"We talked about his grandchildren"
They can do as they wish,.. they are the elites.
there was a reason for the American revolution, the French, the Russian and the Iranian revolutions. The guillotine, firing squads, etc are the only language that resonates with the elites and the less than 1%. otherwise, they'll keep on taking. Voting, legislation, rule of law are foreign to them. We have a very long road ahead before people in US/west reach the same conclusions as their forefathers in the 1700s.

not bad. ;)
Posted by: LeaNder | 30 June 2016 at 02:52 PM
It looks like this story is now out there with CNN, ABC,CBS, Fox, USA today, WaPo and Huffington Post giving it some space. Of course, the NYT has yet to cover it. The CNN article went to great lengths explaining that the encounter was totally innocent. I even saw one mention that the Hillary campaign sees this as something that might be bad for her and they are now in spin mode to push the "they were only exchanging photos of their grand children" story.

I don't know about RW's, but an alternative that fits facts might be...
Bill, a hail-fellow-well-met type (as ex-Prez go), having little or no feedback loop when it comes to Living Large, went into pol autopilot mode (kinda like Ronny watching old movies & recalling them as real). His default is campaigning - saying nice things, building rapport, kissing babies.
When he found out Lynch was nearby on the tarmac, he couldn't help himself... to "do good" ... simply by his magnetic presence things would become better (a characteristic of pure politicians - VP Biden is cut from the same cloth). At this stage in life Bill is about making up for a lifetime of past transgressions to his wife, more pro quo than quid, & clumsy to boot. {if a deal was going down, would a wise-guy operate out in the open?}

and away we go...
"Department of Justice officials filed a motion in federal court late Wednesday seeking a 27-month delay in producing correspondence between former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s four top aides and officials with the Clinton Foundation and Teneo Holdings, a closely allied public relations firm that Bill Clinton helped launch.
If the court permits the delay, the public won’t be able to read the communications until October 2018, about 22 months into her prospective first term as President. The four senior Clinton aides involved were Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Michael Fuchs, Ambassador-At-Large Melanne Verveer, Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills, and Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin."

He just let her know how happy his grandchildren would be if she kept her place as AG and got nominated to the Supreme Court.

And schtupping her law partner from the looks of Chelsea (well, he was Mayor of Little Rock then).
Trout-mouth Chelsea before her nose and chin job. You can find pics of Hubbell all over the web:

rakesh,
Your derision is misplaced. A judge would throw the book at any ordinary spouse of a criminal defendant--or intended criminal defendant--who met privately with the prosecutor. It’s grounds for the disbarment of the prosecutor who permits it. Cannot be done. If the ordinary spouse takes that license--could be the innocent action of a legal simpleton--it has to be in the prosecutor ’s office, officially recorded, and reported to the court.
