"Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz prevented consideration of a resolution at the party’s summer meeting here that praised President Obama and offered backing for the nuclear agreement with Iran, according to knowledgeable Democrats.
The resolution was drafted with the intention of putting the national committee on record in support of the agreement as Congress prepares to take up the issue when members return from their August recess." Balz

Seems like a good reason to get a new DNC chair. BTW, a 31st senator revealed today that he would vote to uphold a presidential veto. pl
All
The number of senators supporting the deal just reached 41, enough to block the resolution of disapproval. IMO Obama will pick up several more. Collins of Maine, Cantwell of Washington and maybe a couple more.pl

Bernie Sanders' Screwy Mideast Strategy
https://consortiumnews.com/2015/08/26/sanderss-screwy-mideast-strategy/
"Sen. Bernie Sanders says the solution to Mideast chaos is more Saudi intervention when Saudi intervention in support of Sunni extremists is the heart of the problem, writes Sam Husseini."

Lindsey Graham's speech at National Press Club laid out a plan not significantly different from Sanders's suggestion.
Graham said Gulf states and Saudis offered their armies and financing to remove ISIS from Syria, but only if Assad goes too.
