Last year he was charged with being an accessory to the murder of his ex-wife and mother of two.

Most recently, he was charged with more than 50 allegations of indecent and sexual assault relating to time allegedly spent as a self-proclaimed "spiritual healer" who dealt with black magic at a premises in western Sydney more than a decade ago.

So a refuge was convicted of a sexual assult but not deported? I assume that is because he became a citzen before the felony was committed. (In which case shouldn't he identified as an Australian rather than as a refugee? Perhaps I'm mistaken). When did this convicted felon obtain a firearm in Australia? I thought thier gun restrictions and licensing requirements were stricter than any in the US? I expect this incident is going to make Australian politics even more turbulent.

probably why he asked for a ISIS flag. If it was a real jihadi, we would be seeing lot of dead bodies. After all ISIS asked it foreign sympathizers to behead infidels. Not to take to takeover chocolate shops.

Most westerners probably cannot understand the expletives that Riz Khan delivered in one of the scene in rapid succession but that was a classic scene.

How did he get a firearm? Easy, just pay enough money for an illegal one. There are plenty for sale if you know the right criminal.

According to the media this morning, he was on bail for a string of violent offences. It sounds to me that he was only marginally stable and decided to go "the full retard".

Why was he still in Australia? He was a political refugee from Iran. If you follow the U.N. Convention on refugees like we do, you can't send him back to Iran no matter what his crime here. Who else would take him?

I followed this drama Yesterday and quickly got bored by the TV commentators vapid chatter and the endless procession of earnest academic "terrorism experts" grinding their own particular axes who make me sick.

IMHO, this should have been treated as a purely criminal matter and been subject to a complete news blackout. If I turn on te TV, I am sure to be subjected to more academic idiots "are all muslims violent like this?" etc., etc.

The next stage will be pious politicians calling for a state funeral for the victims, endless outpourings of public grief for the media digestion, memorials and tributes, followed by new proposals for special anti terror laws to deal with this "threat".

There will no doubt be more violence against the muslim community in the aftermath of this.

I expect Stephen Harper will fly in for the State funeral to be with his buddy Tony Abbott.
