As predicted, the moderate Syrian rebel forces are no more. When will Col. Lang be callled back to the colours?
At some point President Obama will require a scapegoat for the stupidity of his strategy. As a general rule scapegoats are not chosen for their guilt but for expediency. Look out Gen. Dempsey! Who should really go?
.........
Two of the main rebel groups receiving weapons from the United States to fight both the regime and jihadist groups in Syria have surrendered to al-Qaeda.
The US and its allies were relying on Harakat Hazm and the Syrian Revolutionary Front to become part of a ground force that would attack the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil).
For the last six months the Hazm movement, and the SRF through them, had been receiving heavy weapons from the US-led coalition, including GRAD rockets and TOW anti-tank missiles.
But on Saturday night Harakat Hazm surrendered military bases and weapons supplies to Jabhat al-Nusra, when the al-Qaeda affiliate in Syria stormed villages they controlled in northern Idlib province.
The development came a day after Jabhat al-Nusra dealt a final blow to the SRF, storming and capturing Deir Sinbal, home town of the group's leader Jamal Marouf............
ALL: Question? Am I correct that the majority of arms supplied to Syrian rebels was "accomplished" by the CIA not the Pentagon?

All
I'm pretty sure that the proverbial things have hit the fan. It's totally obvious now that the so-called moderate rebels in Syria are not only not able to hold their ground against IS, Al Qaeda or the Syrian government. The main forces, which the US envisioned to be the ground forces against IS in Syria, were just exterminated. I don't think any amount of propaganda can cover this up, and a need for a fall guy will arise. My guess is it will be Ms Rice, but we'll see.
But while the defeat of the so-called moderate rebels can't be covered up, there is another story behind the surface in Syria that likely will be covered up. In Syria words and evidence is goind around that the so-called moderate rebels weren't so moderate at all.
When the so-called moderate rebels fled their bases and areas of control, they left behind lot's of bodies of the people they killed in water wells. Besides men who may have been killed in combat there are women, children and people in hand-cuffs buried. Al Qaeda's Nusra Front is just pulling the bodies to light, some of them decompsed by months of time. Al Qaeda accuses the western-backed so-called moderate rebels now as bahaving like death squads and of not even having buried people according to Islamic customs, but instead dropping the in water wells and other holes in the ground. As far as I see, the accusation sticks, because it is essentially true.
In January 2014, when the so-called moderate rebels opened their front against ISIS, I already noticed that many woman - and children - of ISIS fighters vanished with their husbands. Today I read a comment on Twitter of someone from Syria backing the so-called moderate rebels, saying he can't understand why AQ makes such a propaganda fuss about disposing bodies of enemies in water wells, since everyone in the region knows that the moderate rebels killed all ISIS people they could get in January and then dumped them in water wells.
So, long speech for a short message: besides the defeat of the western backed rebels, behind the corner lurks the further damaging revelation that the moderate western-backed moderate rebels in Syria act much like the death squads of the Mexican Cocaine mafia.

With all due respect, with no links or confirmation from anyone but you, why should I or anyone credit it? I remain an interested and engaged reader of your thoughts and sources. Please supply some sources for us.

All, How does our government choose leaders? Are there any ways of keeping score of who is right and who is wrong? Who's analysis and predictions are accurate and whose r failures? I'm sure this doesn't exist so our government has little accountability for failure, mistakes, ... If Col. Lang's analysis is consistently accurate shouldn't there be a way to get him into a leadership position?

Think it will be Al Nusra vs. ISIS in the end who will be fighting each other. Remember when even Al Queda disowned ISIS for being too extreme? Mark my words. As to who will be the winner of this fratricide, we will see.

Bandolero ,
"saying he can't understand why AQ makes such a propaganda fuss about disposing bodies of enemies in water wells,"
killing people and dumping bodies in wells seems to be the main pastime of most of the rebel groups in Syria.

All,
it seems the northern Syrian moderate rebels (a subgroup of moderate Syrian rebels, also a Endangered species) are expected to be extinct in the wild (northern areas of Syria) very soon. Total extinction would not happen thanks to the specimens currently living in London, DC, and few other HR organizations.
Meanwhile southern Syrian moderate rebels are also facing the same end (along with Obamaite dreams) due to fragmented territory, cross breeding with Wahhabi groups and intense competition.
This extinction, though seems to shock many in the msm, whitehouse, etc. etc. is hardly a surprise for anyone who have followed this forum for a while. Kudos for col. Lang and others who predicted this outcome.

Some YT sources:
Here is a short video from what looks like a (former) FSA-friendly channel - note the title: bodies of mujahedin killed by Maarouf pulled out of wells near Deir Sunbul (HQ of Maarouf)
youtu.be/RER8DYWCT18
Here is a longer jihadi video showing lot's of bodies:
youtu.be/qLm50Ww6Cuk
There are many more videos. Just query Twitter and Youtube for recent day results on Jamal Maarouf or Deir Sunbul, preferably in Arabic.
If the videos are deleted from YT, here are some screenshots from such videos (some, but not all pics there deal with Maarouf) put on display on a German blog:

As far as I see, nobody in the region is surprised or questions the allegation that Maarouf and his guys threw bodies of people they killed into water wells because all knew about it since long ago.

Yup; like the Spanish Civil War - that the Catalans were murdering priests seems to have been conveniently forgotten while every crime by Franco's forces recalled in all its gory details.

Haralambos, All
One more source, an important one.
I just got to know an additional link to a report in a major opposition news source in arabic language detailing the story of the piles of bodies found in the wells of Maarouf
https://www.facebook.com/Edlib.News.Network/photos/a.245390442137785.70045.245325925477570/861948090482014/
It's a quite detailed account of serial crimes committed by Maarouf since 2011, including dumping bodies of women and children into Romanian wells, well worth of reading it, either in original arabic or through a translator like translate.google.com. Opposition people commenting the report seem to describe this report as fair and honest.

CIA has been funding the liver-eaters to create chaos for some time now. They cannot be this terminally stupid, so I lean towards pre-planned results. Please remember all the funding, support, and training.
