This is painful to read, yet the facts are clear:
"Israel’s Fascistization of Judaism" by Norman Pollack

Nutty-yahu was talking oranges(Iran) and Obomber was talking apples(Gaza/Settlements)...! Wtf over...?

Part of the problem is that every Iron Dome rocket costs a couple of orders of magnitude more than the steel pipes the Palestinians use. Total cost of Israel's recent pogrom: $2.5 billion. Of course, Uncle Sami is expected to foot the bill, while food stamps to the poor get cut.

Friction between the "allies" is to be expected and is long overdue.

Obama only has two years left. Even if he suddenly got a notion of actually doing something useful, Netanyahu would simply wait him out, then make up with President Ted Cruz (you know it would happen).

It's a shame because considering the recent developments you could see some kind of Grand Bargain emerging...

Bah. In a generation or two, maybe.

The world that Israel enjoyed in the 80s, 90s and early 00s is rapidly disintegrating.
The border with Egypt is unstable, so too Syria and (as ever) Lebanon. Jordan is looking more and more wobbly with every passing week.
Israel's relations with Europe are even worse: Turkey, Greece, the populations of France, Britain, Spain, Italy and now even Germany are increasingly against Israel.
Alone stands the US.
And with every passing year that looks less and less solid.
The end of the beginning of the end indeed.

Time to blame the Cherokee for the Trail of Tears.

Zionism is the universal solvent of values.

And that doesn't include the enormous diplomatic cover the United States provides for Isreal. In the United Nations and in other international fora, as well as in international affairs, we carry the water for Israel and protect it against any diplomatic measure, even if warranted. This diplomatic cover comes at a huge cost to the United States. Most Americans are not even aware of the diplomatic cover provided to Israel by the United States, much less cost of that cover. It is significant- and the Isrealis take it for granted.

The striking thing about it - which underlines the point previously made by Walrus - is the the Izzies and their neocon buddies by pursuing their mindless policy of 'expediting the chaotioc collapse' of Israel's neighbours or whatever they wanna call it.

For one thing that has indeed, relatively speaking, strengthened Israel. No neighbour, let alone ISIS, cannot even seriously dream of matching them.

But that came at a price (even beyond the human cost) - Israel is bordering to chaos, and if anything, it's likely to get worse.

It has something hegelian to it, in the sense that they create their own anithesis by overdoing it. Bibi Netanyahoo is overdoing it persified.

To wit:
Things that can't go forever won't. Bubbles pop. There is no unlimited growth (unless, of course, we are speaking of settlements).

The fundamental underpinning of the US/Israel relationship is Dual Citizenship and I have been unable to track how this policy was formulated and came about. I assume therefor it a US STATE SECRET.

Is it possible that our attacks on IS are, in part, cover for demanding an end to Israel's continued settlements of the occupied territories? Clearly, a demand of this nature from us has yet to happen; but if Israel were to refuse, it could allow us to abstain from the PA's proposed resolution calling for withdrawal and final negotiations. Pure speculation, of course, but thought I would float the idea. The best time would be after the November elections. A lame duck can't do much, but BO could do that.

And of course, Bibi took the opportunity to request release of Pollard.
Netanyahu: 'I told the president that we are on the eve of Yom Kippur, a time during which we ask for forgiveness and we give forgiveness.'

And perhaps Israel could give back the naval secrets that Pollard gave them.

Most Americans don't even bother to
look beyond the headlines and the
memes the MSM project. Secondarily,
their religious beliefs side with
Israel against Arabs and Islam.
Have had many conversations with a
varied host of people and almost are
convinced of Israels righteousness.

Fred

oofda,

Perhaps Israel could give back the occupied territories?

The US military industrial complex and the one in Israel are married. Netanyahu represents the Israeli MIC more than he does the people of his country.

And Obama is a fool, (a lame duck one at that) who doesn't make his own decisions. No one internationally respects him other than as the messenger, (and sales person) of Deep State policies that he is.

Oh and the US probably gives much more than $3 billion to the Israelis through black budgets like the CIA which interlocks with the Mossad. And through bi- lateral research projects.

But Washington doesn't give a dime to the Israelis in cash.

The $3 billion all goes to the American Military Industrial complex for weapons which are then given to Tel Aviv.

That might require they stop destroying UN schools first. See http://news.antiwar.com/2014/10/02/netanyahu-postpone-probe-into-attacks-on-un-facilities-in-gaza/

Chutzpah, anyone?

Robert :
Do you have info as to the amount sent to Israel by US citizens, charities etc. annually?

Fred

I'm sure Bibi will have fun trying to influence Sweden.
