Tyler: I think they released the video of the confrontation today. Mr. Brown had a knife when he confronted the officer. Facts have a way of calming down the tsunami of speculation.

The Twisted Genius

Matthew,

The shooting of a knife wielding black was a different shooting in a different city at a different time. There's no video of the Brown shooting, just of the aftermath.

fanto

Tyler, and do not forget the billions of $$ absconded by the 'talented' executives of the hedge fonds, and giant banks, which were bailed out withour taxes, and they did not get criminally charged on the street by a friendly policeman, for doing walking in the middle of the street (if that was even true...)

fanto

Vietnam Vet,
I agree 100%, that what I meant in my reply to Tyler's comment above - if you steal a cigarre you may get killed, but if you steal 1 billion - you are just fine.

turcopolier

fanto

So, the 1%rs through their police "running "dogs" stalked and gunned down this innocent Black child just to keep the population in line? You actually believe that? pl

Cee

Wrong on the call. And there was no robbery. He paid for the cigars.
Since you want to engage in smear tactics, let's go there..what do white cops who come from dysfunctional backgrounds do to assert authority over "ghetto idiots?"
Seems like he needed to control something because his life wasn't a joy.

On the police officer from CBS Evening News:
But snippets of his life have emerged. His parents were married only four years before divorcing in 1989 in Texas. Court records say he divorced last November. His mother, a convicted forger and alleged con artist, died

fanto

Tyler,
the banksters do not riot, they got the free stuff!!

Tyler

Too much moral-status preening on the Left to admit that their organ of the state isn't all that is Benevolent and Good. Remember, these are the people that believe the police are shooting innocent black babies in the streets because Racism. Progressive thought is the mindset of a schizophrenic blended with that of a cult. Reality has no bearing on them.

Tyler

Different shooting, but even then you've got people following the same script. Here in Phoenix the police shot a violent mentally ill black woman who attacked them with a hammer and the race pimps were instantly out and about following the same script.

fanto

Colonel,
Sir, I did not say that at all! The banksters do nothing like that. They enjoy the fruits of the nations toil, and the least powerful, the poorest, the least educated, and now increasingly the middle class - they have to pay. The billions of dollars which disappeared in the black holes of the financial worlds it what I object to. The 1%ers enjoy what they cannot even totally consume, they think they will live forever and their childrenschildren will have the same. The "running dogs" which you say (not my words) are the instrument of the 1%ers - is another subject.

Tyler

TTG,

That's not true he bought the cigars. Its a meme that popped up on some leftists twitters and they just ran with it because the facts are so outrageous in blowing up the narrative of the gentle giant who wuddint hurt a mouse that the usual suspects tried to create. You've been in a fight or two I imagine - a blowout fracture doesn't just happen because of a little slap and tickle.

Society gets the law enforcement it deserves. Right now America is all about giving angry blacks whatever they want, whenever they want it. Ergo it seems every time there's an election year we get this inane narrative about innocent noble negros being gunned down in cold blood about the police. Meanwhile not a word about the black on white crime that turns urban centers into unliveable shitholes, or how Section 8 is used to free up "Blue America" real estate in cities by farming out the undesireable ghetto trash to "Red America" in the suburbs.

I have yet to see a reasonable answer on "how" the police are supposed to respond in a riot. It seems to be the police are supposed to let the rioters do whatever the hell they want because the Mob is right up there with illegal aliens and homosexuals as one of the Left's "born without sin" classes. Then they act surprised when buildings get burned down and looted by animals who only understand force. C'est la vie.

Again, this is another demonstration of one America versus the other America. Local PD using tear gas against a mob burning shit down? WHOA WHOA WHOA WE HAVE RIGHTS!!! Boston PD kicking down doors looking for terrorists? Well that's okay because its Boston and the rules are different in the Northeast (where else in the country could "stop and frisk" be considered legal?)

Look, you're not impressed by the Ferguson PD in a riot line? Okay fair enough, but realize that for a lot of these guys they have little clue what the hell is going on and are responding like humans because they are humans and likely get a four hour block of training once a year on how to respond. Honestly, I'm amazed at the mental contortions people are going through to justify the actions of a bunch of looters stealing hair extensions while condemning the police for coming across as overwhelmed.

But whatever. America will have a day when the police aren't there and then we can see what steps up to fill the gap. I'm sure it'll be a massive improvement over this expectation that police officers should be able to matrix a variety of laws during volatile and life threatening situations to the exacting standards of people Monday morning quarterbacking them.

Tyler

Cee,

Is that what you call that then? LOL

Tyler

There was a robbery. An inconclusive youtube video doesn't prove anything. Keep on repeating those liberal lies though because Saint John Coffey turned out to be another thug.

Sounds like he turned his life around, unlike Michael Brown of the Cigars who couldn't stand not being told to not walk in the street and got shot because he assaulted a police officer.

Tyler

Honestly, the only way forward is segregation. Why we insist on this insanity that two different cultures can live in harmony while the people pushing these policies lock themselves in gated whitopias, I'll never know.

Matthew

Tyler: I'm reading Michael Korda's new biography of Robert E. Lee. When today makes no sense, I retreat to a history of the Founders (or their children).

Matthew

Tyler & TTG: Thanks for the correction. Our locals news ran it as the Brown video. This is why I hate the broadcast news. Usually wrong!

Tyler

Kyle,

No, the fact that Hispanics don't turn out to vote is going to keep Texas red.

I get that you're mad that the insanity that reigns in Austin isn't representative of the state, but I don't think we need to lie about shit to make a point.

Its also lol that you're upset over "Republican gerrymandering". Sheila Jackson Lee LITERALLY has a district that is nothing but Democratic voters, but hey its those evil Rethuglicans.

Tyler

Fanto,

Well I think that's more the department of Eric "My People" Holder. He's too busy suing fire departments and ginning up racial grievances to go after the banksters.

Cee

Tyler

Do you pay attention? No liberal blog information. I provided video from the store that showed that he paid for the cigars. CBS is hardly a liberal news outlet and not the only one to write about the background of this officer. He's got issues...control and a but of paranoia to have overreacted the way he did. You seem a bit like him.
Brown is dead for not wanting to following orders but shouldn't have been gunned down because of it.

Bobo

Tyler

Come on, your better than that. If that was the case they would of kept us Irish bottled up for years. The black community has come a long way to full assimilation it's just they still have the Jesse's and Al's keeping them down plus the lack of a father figure in the families which is the real problem. Otherwise it's summer and steam had to be blown off somewhere.

Fred

fanto,

I'm sure Eric Holder is willing to charge those bankers as soon as his boss tells him too. Maybe Obama will undo the Bush tax cuts on those hedge funds too.

Cee

Tyler

OMG! LOL! You sound like George Wallace!!! I'm glad you came out of the closet!!!

Little ole' Black me just moved from a gated community and not one person that I knew there was pushing any kind of agenda. Whitopia? LOL? SMH.

Fred

Stephanie,

Yes, the old voter suppression. Just how was that done in Feguson between the 2008 and 2010 elections? Where o where was the AG then?

Fred

Laura,

“Col.--I can have it both ways: In theory, it doesn't matter whether the city govt is 100% white or 100% black.”

In a prior corporate position I was the minority supplier development manager in a fortune 500 firm with multi-billion dollar annual spend. Just why would I direct my purchasing staff to spend shareholder money on raw material or finished goods manufactured by a company located in Ferguson Missouri? (or anywhere else in Missouri). The President of the United States just sent the Attorney General there where he in effect says that the constitutionally elected representatives sent to the legislature of the State of Missouri cannot be trusted by the people of Missouri. The Secretary General of the United Nations said effectively the same thing last week. Please tell me, just for planning purpose, can my firm expect that the environmental laws that affect this company we’re supposed to buy product from be stable for the next few years? Well, the legislature can’t be trusted so apparently not. Will the taxes be stable for this company my employer will now be purchasing product from? The legislature can’t be trusted so again apparently not. Should I go on? Again, why the hell should I or any other manager with fiduciary duties to the shareholders, not to mention an ounce of common sense, invest in a company located in an area where the government can’t be trusted?

As they say in Missouri though, “show me”; so maybe I missed something in the press. Let see, plenty of links to Senator F-bomb – even the latest one from MSNBC where she says the government of the State of Missouri can’t be trusted; but I don’t see anything from any other members of the state legislature.

Perhaps someone in the press could interview a different Missouri State Senator. .. why yes, in NYC, oops, that was the ex-Senator one of the other correspondents here and I have been exchanging views on. (Okay it was an oped, they NYT technicaly didn’t interview him) In addition, isn’t NYC in a different state?

How about a little “yes we can” effort from the people at the “all the news that’s fit to print” NY Times. Perhaps some people at ABC/NBC/CBS/FOX, anyone out there? Hello, the capital of Missouri is….. NOT in New York or the District of Columbia. BBC/Reuters/AP anyone there? Can you professional journalists interview someone other than ‘the usual suspects’? Jefferson City is just down the road.

Fred

Tyler,

The response of the politicians, or some of them, have been just as bad. The press is no better.
