"The Likud's hold on our Congress is what needs serious examination." So far, that has been impossible since AIPAC exerts enough political pressure to prevent it. pl

Well, it's a very long shot to be sure. Politics being politics, many things can happen which are unexpected.

It is said that the Neocons are already upset by Zoelleck's new role. A good indicator.

We can scrutinize the Romney camp and watch how the foreign policy issue is handled over the next few weeks and get at least some indication.

For example, it was Williamson and not Senor who handled to press at the time of the VMI speech. Senor was sidelined. Zoelleck and Williamson now have top transition slots.

It may well be that there are moderate to conservative Republican Mormons who are in the foreign policy/national security area and who are not Neocon oriented. Perhaps they could be brought into the picture and interface with Brent Scowcroft for advice and counsel. This would be a very good development.

I am going to keep an eye on the next two debates. What will the staffing be to brief the candidate on foreign policy issues? Who will have his ear? Who will be authorized to respond to press on foreign policy issues?

Perhaps most significant, How much impact will the intervention of Mrs. Romney and the eldest son have for moderation in foreign policy issues?

Just a personal opinion regarding Romney moving away from far right wing neocons....

Should he ignore their advice and move toward a rational and moderate plan of action who would support his policies other than a few Democratic politicians? Who would support him financially and pull strings for him? I don't think the neocons would.

Still just an opinion but I think, should he win the election, he will be controlled by his party and his party is dominated by its extreme elements.

"...who would support his policies other than a few Democratic politicians? Who would support him financially and pull strings for him?" How about the LDS establishment? He is likely to head the LDS church in the future, why would they not start supporting him massively now? This is getting more interesting, Mormons are not neocons. pl

You statements are not correct.

The largest and most persistent threats to Jews came from post-Christian states of Europe and not from "religions" - left un-named.

Inter-communal violence, as one witnesses today in India, must not be conflated with the mass-exterminations of the NAZIs and their collaborators (Italians, French, Poles, Romanians, Croatioans, Ukranians, Hungarians, and others) in Europe.

Jews were not kicked out of Turkey, or Iran, or any of the South or North American states, Russia, and India.

In fact, to my knowledge, Iran is the only place on Earth with continuous Jewish presence for the last 2500 years.

In party terms, there is deep division between the Neoconized and the normal. The party base has been increasingly Fundamentalist and party finances increasingly from "Jewish funders." This strengthens the Neocons who are a policy network.

So many party liberals, moderates, and conservatives have distanced themselves from the extremist Neoconized faction and from the delusional Fundis and from the party.

Many normal liberal, moderate, and conservative Republicans who reject Neocons and Fundis voted Democrat the last time and have become independents or Democrats. They feel their party has abandoned them for the crazies. This process has taken place over the last three decades.

So, can a Romney presidency dump the Neocons, restrain the Fundis, attract normal people back, and get the party into some state of "normalcy"?

It's a very long shot to be sure.

PL: I, for one, would welcome Israeli indiffernce to us. In fact, I'm begging Israel to get a new friend (sugar daddy). I'd love to see them try their schtick on the Chinese.

I think Haaretz gives a misleading impression of the amount of political diversity in Israel. Yes, there are several dozen brave, eloquent, knowledgeable writers and reporters there, and Haaretz (and 972) publish them. But the Israeli left, or liberal left, is kaput. On the occupied territories, there is a bit of debate that counts between the far right and medium right, but no constituency in Israel for a real two state solution. It's a pity.

I don't see Rmoney dragging the GOP back to the middle. He was NOT a consensus candidate; the party base just never found a viable option, and they wound up with Rmoney by default.

Club for Growth & others have purged almost all the sensible moderate leaders from the GOP (Jeffords, Chaffee, Lugar, Spector, etc). Rmoney's money & Mormonism might shield him from the same fate, but he won't have much pull on the rest of the party.

The GOP is always more able to change direction more quickly than the Democratic Party, so they might "pivot", but it won't happen until they run a hard right candidate in 2016 & lose in a landslide. I hope.

Yes, it may be too late to salvage the Republican Party. The Neocons and Fundis with massive money behind them have all but taken over during the past 30 years.

The Democrat Party's subservience to the pro-Israel Lobby is longstanding as well. Look at the Convention voice vote where the "Hispanic" guy presiding caved to the Zionists against the majority. The whole world saw that.

Intervention by the Dems "Humanitarian Interventionists" like Rice and Power and the whole raft of them is the SAME as intervention by the Neocon Republicans. Obama's policy continues W's.

We seem to be headed for an overtly Fascist party and a thinly veiled one. Perhaps there will be pushback by normal people in both parties but it is late in the game.

In the ME countries you mentioned, do the Jews:

Have 'civil rights' group that decide what is and what is not 'hate speech', and sue the shit out of anyone who crosses them?

Run the majority of enterainment companies and ruthlessly stifle any dissent from the multicult narrative?

Constantly at the forefront of agitating for blacks/hispanics/illegal immigrants/homos to the detriment of the majority?

Constantly push and push for more benefits and money for Israel while spying on the country they live in?

Have a ridiculously outsized influence in education and government considering they are a little under 2% of the population?

What I am saying is that the Persian Jew 'playbook' is a bit different than what happens in America. That's like me talking about a 'slutwalk' in Tehran compared to San Fran: you're comparing apples and oranges.

As far as what the Germans may or may not have done, well do you think that kind of shit just happens in a bubble?

"During the Bush administration, Israeli-American dual citizen and Director of Homeland Security Chertoff mandated that American police forces be trained by Israeli groups in crowd control, counter-terrorism and intelligence gathering.

Since that time, shootings of unarmed civilians has gone up 500%, attacks on legal political protests by police have become a scandal and huge stockpiles of ammunition and military heavy weaponry have been distributed to law enforcement groups in every region of America, both local and federally controlled.

Anyone have data on this "Israelification" of US law enforcement? Companies involved, contracts?

RE: "try their schtick on the Chinese."

Muchas gracias, Matthew.

Its a nexus of a few things:

1) DHS handing out hundreds of millions of dollars in grants for local PDs of ten or less officers to buy military equipment.

2) A gun to the head from the judiciary to hire more 'diverse' candidates, resulting in unqualified applicants getting shoved through.

3) More and more esoteric intermediate force devices to make up for the fact that a 110 lbs, 5'1 woman is not able to physically handle the same type of situations your 6', 240 lbs man will handle. If these fail, the last option avaliable is your pistol.

4) An influx of younger veterans into agencies trying to be 'tacti-cool' and wearing enough gear to battle through Ramadi and complaining about "that's not how we do it in Iraq". I deal with this shit everyday, and you have to spike it hard.

Of course, the average criminal is getting more violent (cartel chainsaw fun), so I can understand buying hard plate body armor if you're an officer in Gary, Indiana, but not when 95% of your encounters are speeding tickets.

Remember, there's also the flipside that violence isn't being reported accurately, since everyone wants to say 'violence is going down!'. Look up Compstat fraud by PDs across the country, where murders become accidental deaths, rapes become offensive touching, and aggravated assault becomes battery. So when people say "shootings are up but violence is down", that's not quite true.

Cliffiord Kiracofe

Tyler, thanks for these insights.

Yes levels of violence in crimes seems to be rising. The narcos and Hispanic gangs have plenty of money for weapons and everything else.

I noticed a while back doing some research on border crime that the "Hispanic" category is minimized and there is no separation of US citizens and foreign citizens in jails. Thus, data on foreign "Hispanics" in US jails (Mexico and Central America citizens) is hard to find, or at least it was for me.

As for Israeli "training," a few years ago the wife of the local VA state game warden told me her husband had just received such "training."

There is a big push for "diversity" in some sensitive federal institutions. This creates issues for counterintelligence as some reading this blog know.

On the tacti-cool aspect, what is the average distance of fatal encounters in your shop? Under 15 feet? Are firefights normal with the bad guys you deal with? How are they armed if so?

The FBI classifies hispanics as white when they are the offender, and as hispanics when they are the victim. The reason for this is never expressed, but is likely because it inflates the white v black crime stat.

All "white".

I haven't seen any in my neck of the woods, but I am of the mind that Israeli 'tactics' might work alright in their particular neck of the woods. However when I've encountered what they've exported its a lot of scripted Hollywood crap (Krav Maga) or stuff that is exactly what another guy is teaching, but just happens to have 'Made in Israel' slapped on it for advertising reasons.

Diversity is the name of the game in the federal workforce. Unless you're a veteran/current fed/have an inside track, good luck trying to be a white male and getting hired in any federal LEA. Meanwhile we had a "homosexual heritage month" a few months ago, and there's an 'Office of Diversity' in every Bureau level agency, all the way to the Department level. Basically the local temple for the state religion of multicult.

My shop isn't the usual LEA, but our encounters are usually ~20 feet or so. Rocks make up most of the assaults, believe it or not. It might not seem like much, but when you've got a kid sending fist sized chunks of flint at your head at 60 mph, it turns deadly fast.

Honestly it doesn't pay for the cartels to engage with us - then the border gets locked down, smuggling routes get disrupted, and they fall into conflict with other cartels as they're forced east and west. As far as armament, generally they're armed with everything from the SKS and old Hi-Powers, to fully auto AK47s and Glocks.

Hispanics are considered "white" by a US Supreme Court decision in the early 1940's. I will leave it to the lawyers to find the case citation.

That is interesting, especially when you consider that they benefit from affirmative action.

Before Affirmative Action Hispanics wanted to be classified White because they wanted to be identified as members of the majority. The benefits of Affirmative Action were too attractive a benefit to pass up, so they joined the minority crowd. It became cost effective to be a minority.

Are Jews considered a minority under Affirmative Action?
