All,

Yesterday Al-Mayadeen tv had a live interview with Sayed Nasrallah. a few points:

If Israel will not adhere to red lines during any future conflict between Lebanon and Israel, hezb will do the same (He alluded that Chemical and nuclear plants could be targeted if Israel use unconventional weapons)

a point that stood out is when asked what will the Iranians do if Israel attacks Iran he replied that the Iranian response will
a) not be limited to inside Israel
and
b) that the US bases in the gulf could be targeted by the iranians.(regardless if the US takes part in the strike or not because according to Sayed Nasrallah the Israelis cannot make such a move without a greenlight from the US)

The Moar You Know

Betting against the Assads has not been a good investment. They've proven to be both very smart and utterly ruthless. I've been reading Sherman's autobiography. There's a touch of Sherman in that statement, for certain.

I'll never understand why two successive administrations have chosen to install fundamentalist Islamists in power, in place of secularized strongmen who, it is true, do hideous and horrible things to keep themselves in power. I guess no one stopped to think that maybe these strongmen were by far the most preferable alternative.
