Yesterday's Farid Zakariya show was enlightening. It had several interesting segments on the Iran/Israel situation. In addition to the circus among the Israelis, there was a neat "coming out' by Kissinger. The four "Israelis included a Palestinian woman reporter for Haaretz somebody named Levy and two more Zionists who did not admit to dual nationality. Does anyone believe that? The question that was not asked in the whole show was whether or not Israel has the military capability to do more than annoy the Iranians if they do not use nuclear weapons. That's why they want us to do the deed for them. All this talk of Israel "going it alone" is wonderflly nonsensical. Good! Let them do it, but without us. pl

The devotion of the MSM to warmaking or potential warmaking by the USA or its allies or protectorates given its level of ignorance and misunderstanding is appalling. I always start from the basis that few if any wars are won by anyone but it can be guaranteed that innocents will suffer.
What is worse of course is that ignorance is shared by most USA politicians.

Col: It took 27 Mossad agents to strangle one unarmed Palestinian. Of course, they can't go it alone against Iran.

pl: You've said there is an 80% chance there is war with Iran. Given this post, the US has to be THE ONE. How do you see this happening?

Colonel:
Here's my nightmare senario:
1. Bibi goes it alone on Iran amid Republican cries of "We must always stand with our bestest friend forever." 2. Bibi botches the attack as predicted because, according to Republicans, Obama wouldn't help our dear ally. 3. Oil prices go through ceiling on fevered speculation. 4. Romney wins election with promises "not one inch between US and Israel." 5. Bibi says we, and he means we, must finish the job on Iran and you promised (and...psssst...I handed you the election, pumpkin). 7. Romney goes all in with second attack. 7. Bibi tells cabinet: "I really screwed the Schwartza" and bursts out in laughter.
Lily Tomlin: “No matter how cynical I get, it’s just never enough to keep up.”
