Thanks Maureen. How did you happen to come across this short story?

Maureen Lang

It's an old family favorite that my daughter, Pat's niece, particularly liked read to her when she was growing up.

Merry Christmas, Mark.

Natalie

If you read it to children, make sure to do separate voices for each character as Mom did for me, though you can maybe skip putting on a miner's bandana even if it does add to the mood ;)

Maureen Lang

Just a minute there! I only put on the miner's neckerchief to read "Simpson's Bar" a couple times when you were about 9 years old.....most probably.

Merry Christmas, Nat.

Mark Gaughan

Merry Christmas to you too Maureen.

Basilisk

Maureen,
Thanks for rescuing that fine short story. I had never encountered it before.

Maureen Lang

An old family favorite, as I mentioned above.

Merry Christmas, Basilisk.
